I have been a part of the fitness industry for fourteen years. In 2000, while attending Sam Houston State University and getting my degree in Kinesiology and Health, I began working at a health club and training clients. fourteen years later, I still love every aspect of being a personal trainer. I consider it an honor to be able to help people achieve a healthy lifestyle. My experience, education, and passion ensure that all of my clients get the best training I have to offer. I graduated from SHSU in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree. I hold certifications from National Academy of Sports Medicine, NASM, Performance Enhancement Specialist PES, Corrective Exercise Specialist CES; Also NFPT National Federation of Professional Trainers, Certified Personal Trainer CPT. My focuses as a trainer cardiovascular training, core strengthening, resistance training, nutrition, and sports conditioning.

Being healthy and living an active lifestyle is something that I hold very dear to my heart. As a child, I was constantly outside. Being active and playing sports was a way of life. I started playing softball when I was nine and once I got to middle school, played basketball as well. I became the quintessential athlete. However, in April of 1997, my life changed when I was diagnosed with leukemia. I was a freshman in high school with hopes of going on to college on a softball scholarship. Those hopes and dreams seemed impossible to those around me, but I had a goal and every intention of achieving it. After three years of chemotherapy and many prayers later, I was told I was in remission and have been cancer free ever since. My experience with leukemia allowed me to know what helplessness felt like. During those three years, I was unable to control what was happening to my body, so when the doctors declared that I was healthy, I made a vow. From that day forward, I promised that I would live the rest of my life in optimum health and do anything in my power to help others be healthy, too.

Reaching Goals

As a personal trainer, I am given that opportunity. In the past 10 years, I have trained and helped hundreds of people begin their journey towards an active lifestyle. I have trained individuals, partners, teens, senior citizens. I have taught group classes and run boot camps. On a personal note, I enjoy cycling and playing flag football. Last January I even completed the Houston Aramco Half Marathon. Health and fitness is my livelihood, personally and professionally. So thank you for showing interest in PT by Lucy and come on board. Let's make a change together!
